Photoshop Fun

I've been having fun with my photos and trying to learn photoshop. Although, I have been posting most of my photos on Facebook, I have also been uploading them to deviantART.com. For those of you who do not have facebook, I thought that I would share my fun little adventure....right along with my new recipe fun...which, sadly, has taken a back seat to work since Clinique is currrently in bonus mode. *whew* 40 hours a week with late nights and no weekends is wearing a girl out!
Anyway, here is the link to my profile if you would like to check it out. Enjoy! :D

New furniture....kinda

We were out garage sale'ing for a few items and we stumbled across this cute little couch. Kiera ran up to it at the garage sale and plopped right down, looked up and smiled. How could we not get it? It was in great condition and only $5! She loves to sit on it with her toys or read books.

Don't throw your expired coupons away!

Found this on one of my grocery coupons websites. It is great idea, way better than just throwing them out and it helps all those who serve our country! THANK YOU SOLDIERS!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stop tossing those expired grocery coupons in the trash! Our U.S. military families stationed overseas are able to use them on base for up to six months after the manufacturer's expiration date! Help us keep our list of participating bases up to date... if you know one that would like to be added to our list please contact us with their current mailing information today.

Keep in mind the time it takes to mail your coupons internationally--usually many weeks--so do try to get them sent off soon. Some bases even welcome you to send your coupons directly to them even if you do not personally know a military family overseas, and these are the bases we list on our site. They will either distribute the coupon donations to needy families or place them in an area where they can be picked up by families at the PX and Commissary. (Please note: They can only accept regular manufacturer's coupons; no "in store" coupons or internet printed coupons.)

GrocerySavingTips.com maintains our base address list on a monthly basis, unlike other coupon address lists you may find on the Internet that may or may not be current.

Please Note... The USPS may request a person's contact name when mailing your coupons, please explain to them that we cannot maintain a list of personal contact names because they change so often. We are a volunteer group just donating grocery coupons to help our military families stationed overseas. The postal worker can also open and inspect the package if that will help and verify that the contents are just grocery coupons being sent to our U.S. commissaries overseas. Addressing the package directly to the Commissary or "Family Services" will also help.

Also, according to the USPS, "Do not include the country or the base camp's city, as it might be routed through the host country's mail system." We include this information in our address list below so you will know where they are located, but when you mail your envelopes you may address them like this...
Family Services (or Information We Have Listed)
Unit Number, Box Number
APO AE 00000

* * * * * * *

In addition... we would like to suggest that you contact the base first, especially if you are sending a large amount of coupons as a group, to make sure they are still accepting coupons. Their circumstances are changing on a monthly basis and we are doing the best we can to keep our mailing list current for everyone. Please keep us posted! :o) Also, please read more tips from our readers below our list of addresses.

A turn of events

So, it turns out that the job Paul was supposed to have for the entire summer was just cut short due to budgeting cut-backs. His last day is on Tuesday and we (mainly me) are struggling to be okay with the fact that money is again really tight and VERY uncertain. With only my paycheck we cannot pay bills, rent, etc AND eat ~ with is pretty important if you wanna stay alive! :)

Please pray for Paul and that a job will come to him swiftly. Thank you in advance for all your prayers and support!

We love you all!

Answered Prayers

Who would have thought that the answer to our prayers would be Paul going BACK to school. He has a great opportunity to basically go to graduate for little cost. Through the TA job Paul maintained throughout his undergrad schooling, he is able to go to school only having to pay for tuition fees and books. So, there you go, we asked for an answer to prayer and we got one. Not exactly the one we thought that we were going to get ~ we were looking forward to actually having a savings account, buying a home, and getting some babies! Oh, well, guess God must have something else in mind for us.

So, to all those who were praying for us - THANK YOU! The answer came swift and with a great peace.

Maybe one of these days Paul and I will do something interesting enough to put pictures up on the blog! Until then, we hope you don't tire of our writing.

THANKS AGAIN!
