Long distance makeup

For Amy's birthday, her only request was to Skype with Baby K....and who can say no to such an easy birthday request? So, we hopped onto Skype and Kiera was, of course, the ham. Giggling, and talking her Kiera-nese. Then once we put her down and put the laptop down to her level, she had a brilliant idea.......Auntie MiMi needs a makeover! So, she grabbed her "makeup case" and brush and did one right there on the spot. Is she a girly-girl or what?

Okay, so first things first.....my apologies for not getting on here more often for Kiera's adoring fans. It has been a rough month and have been working many hours at my job - so excuses aside, here are some cute photos of Kiera. :D

New shoes

One of Kiera's favorite things to do is put on Paul's or my shoes and walk around the house. My favorite part is hearing the loud "click" "click"s on the tiles from such big shoes and when you round that corner you see this wee little character walking around. Can't say that she doesn't enjoy life, huh?

Hair! Hair! Glorious hair!

Yeaaaa! Kiera finally has enough hair that I can do something with it! She has been able to do the spout for a while now but we can now do the cute piggy-tails! At first she was a little reluctant to have her hair down and now she comes up to me when her daily outfit is on pointing to her hair and grunting. She is such the diva!

It doesn't get much more adorable that this!

Mexican Food and Flashlights

My mom came and visited because well, honestly, she just can't stay away from that cute little baby K. While we were in town my mom took us out to eat at a great little Mexican restaurant here in town. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a good mexican place here.....you'd think with the HUGE latin population here they would be coming out the ear but we have had our share of REALLY BAD mexican food.

Anyway, Kiera is pretty good about keeping herself entertained in restaurants and here was no exception. She had a great time playing with the tortilla dough and my mom's mini flashlight. She found an interesting way to play with the flashlight. Too cute.

Also, as a side note - Kiera pooped on the potty Saturday!!! Yeah! :)

New video for Auntie Amy

I am unable to find my camera so this is the only new video I have for a very demanding Auntie! :)

Kiera dropped all of her Cherrios and I asked her to pick them up. This is the best way she could think of for cleaning up!

Paul's sister, Lisa, uploaded some pretty cute videos and it reminded me that I had some videos of my own that I needed to get uploaded. Our little one is too cute.

Play Time

Kiera and I get bored in the house and without a back yard of our own we have to be creative. So, every now and then we head over to one of the nearby malls and play at the "play area" with all the other little kids. Kiera usually spends the first half hour just watching the kids and taking in all the sights. Then after that she is all over the play toys and interacting with the other kids. She usually ends up with at least one follower.....

Sounds

Kiera essentially has no words in her vocabulary, my guess is because grunting and sign language has gotten her everything she has wanted in the past so...if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

But she is really good at the sounds that animals make. She's had the dog sound down for months but has recently added cow, snake and bee and we are currently working on Elephant. She has the elephant truck down but can't get the sound to go with it. So, when we look at her elephant book she keeps putting her arm up and down. It is really cute......maybe that will be my next video. :)

Sock it to 'em

Kiera definitely has Paul's circulatory system because her little appendages get so cold but her core is hot like a little heater blanket. So, when we are just hanging out at the house, I like her to wear socks. But of course, she is a big girl now (just ask her, she'll tell you - if she was physically able to drive, she would) and she likes to get her own socks. The sock drawer, which is the bottom drawer, is ALWAYS in disarray and the socks are always pulled apart. So when she brings me socks she is usually pretty good at matching them up and we are good to go.
But this time she only brought me one, I put it on and then she went back to get another one for her other foot. So, this is how she ended up. Too cute.

Where did it go?

While getting Kiera ready for bed she often needs something to play with when we are drying her off, getting her a new diaper and putting on her pjs. I usually kiss her on her nose and then her toy's nose, which cracks her up, or she likes to hug her toy. I wanted to get her being so cute with her little stuffed animal but then she whipped this one out - I don't know how she figured out how to do this but she found that she could "hide" her toy and play a game with us while she was getting her diaper changed.
This girl is going to be the class clown or quite the actor. She just loves making us laugh.

New furniture....kinda

We were out garage sale'ing for a few items and we stumbled across this cute little couch. Kiera ran up to it at the garage sale and plopped right down, looked up and smiled. How could we not get it? It was in great condition and only $5! She loves to sit on it with her toys or read books.

Mad Skills

Napoleon Dynamite might have nunchuck skills, bow hunting skills, and computer hacking skills but I have coupon clipping skills. I knew that eventually my coupon clipping and the time I took to scour the websites for current deals that supermarkets and stores were running would pay off!
All the items that are below were purchased at Target. With the combination of web coupons, clipped coupons and Target coupons I only paid 43 cents for everything! FOURTY THREE CENTS!!!!
Ah yeah! Go Christy, get busy!
