Our recent addition!
Our little girl, Kiera Ranea Large, finally made it into this world on April 16th, 2008 at 12:20am.
It has been a long and interesting process. After trying to have her come into this world naturally we ended up having to induce her on Monday morning at 7:30am. We started out slow and went through the entire day with contractions but unfortunately, Kiera was not handling the pitocin well so, we got a little break Monday night. We started up again Tuesday morning increasing the pitocin dose every 1/2 hour. The contractions started coming every 2 minutes and they were what the doctors called "transition" strength contractions, which are supposedly the hardest they are going to get. Mom is still not on any drugs at this time so it's rough going.
At 5:00pm, the doctor comes in to check and says we are still at 5 cm! What! thats it?! There is no way we can do another 9 hours of HARD contractions that come every two minutes. After discussing it a bit, we decided to go with the epidural since we were both starting to become very stressed and Mom-to-be was starting to go into shock.Once the epidural was in, we started going again with the medicine to see if we could get past 5 cm. Finally, at 11:00 pm with still no progress and after a couple of scares, we decided to have a C-section.
To make a long story short (too late), we are home, happy, and healthy! Here are some pictures for your enjoyment.

Our new home....again
We've moved again, if you hadn't already heard. We now live in a house with our very own backyard and patio! A lot of room for baby Large to roam around.

Here is the front of the new home.
Follow me into our new home!
Be sure to take off your shoes before entering the home - the wifey is not particularly fond of sweeping!
Nothing like resting in the living room watchin' tv just waiting for the baby to arrive....
Mmmmm...I am getting hungry - Let's grab something to eat in the dining room.
Let's put the dishes away and help the wifey.
Let's head out to the deck - it is a GORGOUS day in Seattle today!
Ahhhh......
I would show you the basement but we are not quite done cleaning it up!
This is Davie's room, but we don't wanna go in there.....
Let's head upstairs instead....
Here's is our bedroom - check out the view!!
Ooooohhhh.....Ahhhhhhhh
Here's our bathroom.....can I get some privacy, please???
On to something, ahhem, a bit more appropriate, here is our pending arrival's room!
Can you see where I helped decorate? Wait, let me help you out....
See it now??? More than meets the eye....
With the help of the wifey's mom and sister we got really organized.

Our first little purchase for Kiera!
We were wondering around Target the other day looking for Christmas gifts and we "just happened" to walk through the baby clothing department...this has been happening more and more... I was just glacing through the clothing and made it through to the other side of the department and realized Paul wasn't with me. I retraced my steps and found Paul holding up this little outfit, smiling! He thought we just HAD to get it because our baby would look the cutest in it! So we did ~ it was the greatest thing for me to see Paul so excited about our little munchkin. Enjoy!
Our three foot wonder
Here is a picture of our little Christmas tree...and this is it. It looks like it may just be the top BUT that is it in all its glory!!! But I'll tell you what - it definately makes our apartment feel VERY Christmasy - I LOVE CHRISTMAS!

Baby Land
Well, here we are in Seattle we are pretty much trucking along at the same tempo we were before. Paul is working his booty off in his first year of graduate school while trying to balance the work load of 2 jobs. He is one tired puppy but he is excited about the opportunities that both graduate school and his internship (one of the jobs) will open. I am looking forward to being a stay at home mom, which is making me a bit ancy at work. I have to keep telling myself that without this job, having the baby and stocking up on baby stuff would be costly and down right un-doable.
One little update on the girly-girl - she is a-movin'! Two Sundays ago we were in church singing (rocking out is more like it, if you have ever been to even one service at Mars Hill Church in Seattle, you know what I mean) and Kiera must have really like the music because she was moving so much and so hard that Paul could even feel her!! I would have to say, that is my baby! She will be shakin' her bootie to music before she can even walk if she keeps this up!
One little request - that you keep Kiera in your prayers for growing and development. At our last ultrasound, around my 21 week mark, they were unable to get a clear picture of her heart, so I have to go in AGAIN. Which, as any woman who has had a baby or any man who has been there for a woman who was pregnant knows, is not a good thing to tell a pregnant woman. I am already emotional as it is!!!!! So, it is probably just the hormones worrying and I know that God has her in his hands....but keep on praying for her and for my sanity. I am already thinking the worst - "her heart isn't developing...", "I can't feel her as much...", "Can I lose her in my womb and not know it...?", "what if she has to have surgery..." Paul is, of course, my rock and is not worried at all. Wish I could do that! So, just pray that at my next ultrasound, in about 2 weeks, she is good to go or that I have the strength to hear that might need a little help after birth.
So, long story short - we are doing well and trucking along. Once I get some more picts, get big enough where I don't feel like I just drank too much beer or get some more cute baby clothing I will put those picts on here.
Thanks again for all your support and can't wait for you all to meet her!
All our love!
