Kiera is almost 4 months old and she has changed SO much. From her smile to her bath time to how she swings to nap time....etc! Take a look at how Kiera is growin' up!
Kiera's Auntie Amy just loves her! So much so that she was willing to fly all the way from Seattle to Williamsburg just to see the little squirt. She spent every moment either holding Kiera or asking if she could hold Kiera. I am sure that Kiera will be spending most of her babysitting times at her Auntie's house.
The second to last picture is what I tried to convince Amy Kiera needed - a one carat diamond toe ring. Its what every 3 month old needs right? And the last picture is of an outfit Auntie Amy got Kiera. It says "pint size". How cute is that?
So, I had this great idea that I would do a video compilation of all the times that Kiera tried to roll over leading to her triumphant roll. Well, things didn't go quite as I planned. I took about a half an hour picking out just the right videos, figuring out what areas I would use and what do you know...my camera shoots video in .mov format and the movie editor edits ALL video BUT .mov format...After about an hour of trying to make it work, downloading "patches" to make it work (which btw, did quite the opposite((more work!))) I GIVE UP! Here is the final video of her rolling over.
She decided that yesterday, Friday the 1st was the day that she was going to prove that she was a growing girl and not to underestimated. The great thing is that she gets to share her day of victory with her cousin, Kennedi. She rolled over yesterday as well! Congrats to both the beautiful babies!
Kiera is full of energy and needs to be doing something non-stop. She is not big on naps so we have a packed day! The pictures show a few of her daily activities. (Today Kiera saw her very first movie in the movie theatre - Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull! She did very well and was either napping or watchin' the movie with us!)
Kiera enjoys tummy time and likes to kick her feet. She may be off and crawling before we know it...
She enjoys standing up on my tummy and wants to lean in for a kiss.
Daddy loves to read to Kiera to help her start her love of reading.
She loves to stand as you saw from my last blog. If it wasn't for her newbie legs I am sure that she would be standing all by herself!
With all that work we always need to take to pamper ourselves so we decided to paint our toenails. Girl time!
Kiera has been doing this for about the past 3 weeks but we just finally got this on video a couple of nights ago. She loves standing up and doesn't really like laying down or sitting very much anymore - she is wanting to grow up WAY to fast!
With us in Florida, it is WAY too close to Virigina to not visit the grandparents. My mom and dad just loved spending time with their first grandbaby and Kiera LOVED being pampered!
Kiera's ritual with going to the bathroom is to grunt, push and poop. It is quite humorous to us (we get a GREAT laugh out of this) so we try to get the ritual on video when we can. This time it backfired and the laugh was on us...or should I say the poop was on us. Take a look - we are still laughing about how well Kiera got us!
For Paul's first Father's Day Kiera we took him out to dinner for a nice steak. We got Paul a couple of new pairs of dress pants and a whole box of cigars. Paul was excited about both but I think that he was a little more excited about the cigars because he left his whole collection in Seattle. This way he could enjoy the nice warm nights here in Florida with a book in one hand and a cigar in the other....
Now that Kiera has found her voice, she is definately using it. But with me as her mom - you knew that her voice was going to be one of the first things she was going to develop! I love to listen to her tell me her story!
Turns out Paul is a "baby whisperer" and tells us what Kiera is thinking...only problem is - the translation is in Spanish. Where is the SAP button when you need it?
We've decided while in Florida that we were going to try to do as many Floridian things as possible. One of those things was to see the different animals indigenous to the Florida area. We had great fun and Kiera LOVED looking at all the different animals. She would just watch them swim by her...SO CUTE!
